JLL Helps South New City Become Third Pillar of Nanjing's Economic Vitality
At the end of 2015, JLL assisted the Nanjing South New City Development and Construction Management Committee to complete the High-speed Railway Hub Economic Zone Development Plan.
At the end of 2015, JLL assisted the Nanjing South New City Development and Construction Management Committee to complete the High-speed Railway Hub Economic Zone Development Plan. The zone includes the Honghua Airport area, the Nanjing South Railway Station hub area and the two sides of Yulan Road, covering a total area of about 19.8 square kilometers. This plan lays the foundation for the high-speed railway hub economic zone to be on the same level as Hexi
The research for this project not only sought to work out the industries fitting for development around the HSR station and suited to Nanjing’s background, but also used concentric zone theory to determine the eventual layout of the shortlisted industries. Furthermore, JLL determined the demand for real estate properties in the HSR Hub Economic Zone over the next 10 to 20 years through qualitative and quantitative research. Finally, JLL worked with the architecture design institute to correctly drew up the scale and volume of each property, ensuring the smooth implementation of the plan.
In the future, the HSR Hub Economic Zone will play to its strategic positioning as a green capital showpiece using the smart city model and built on a hub economic platform. This will allow it to display the comprehensive transportation advantages of Nanjing South Railway Station, strengthening the linked layout and functional connectivity between the hub economic zone and the urban innovation zone, and greatly enhancing Nanjing’s pulling power. A radiating effect will in turn promote the development of surrounding urban clusters and further strengthen the city. “The planning and research ideas for the HSR hub are both rigorous and mature,” said then mayor, Ruilin Mu, when discussing the project.
