Are green shoots emerging in China?

Undeniably, the coronavirus pandemic has had considerable impact on China’s economy in 1Q20. 

Amidst the uncertainties, some green shoots of recovery are beginning to appear in select industry sectors. The gradual recovery holds growth opportunities and potential positive impacts for real estate markets.

At the height of the outbreak, COVID-19 brought most industries to a standstill. Now, these industries are slowly returning to normalcy as office and industrial workers report back to workplaces and factories reopen for business.

Time will tell the strength and sustainability of these green shoots but our initial observations in China should provide businesses and investors with a level of optimism amidst unprecedented uncertainty.
