Client story

Achieving excellence

Excellence or nothing

For the state-of-the-art Kellett School, excellence is the only parameter to measure success. Two of its Hong Kong campuses were rated “Outstanding” in 2016 by the British Schools Overseas body. Always aspiring for merits, the school was now determined to be known as one of the most environment-friendly institutions. As we were already providing them with our facility management services, they turned to us for expert advice.

Planning way forward

We were excited to be part of this big dream and initiated the project with an assessment to understand the current status of their buildings’ performance. The client wanted a sustainability plan to incorporate it into the school’s overall 10-year plan. Working closely with school authorities, we prepared a strategic draft plan for their two campuses – in Kowloon Bay (KLB) and Pok Fu Lam (PFL) in Hong Kong.

As the parents play a crucial rule in the school administration, the plan was presented to their statutory body for a discussion, in November 2018. Along with collating data from the sustainability audit, we conducted interviews with key stakeholders, gathering their opinions on the matter. The parents’ body and the school management were firmly in favor of energy savings and improving the environment. Moreover, the data analysis answered key audit questions adding to the management’s opinion.

Another feather in their cap

The collaboration helped in setting a benchmark against international best practices. We agreed upon a roadmap for upgrading and achieving the ambition of excellence in improving the environment.

Constant refinement to their services has brought many accolades to Kellett School, including some real estate awards. Our work for the School led us as well, to win the International Facilities Management Association (IFMA) Asia Pacific Best Managed Facility of the Year Award at the World Workplace Asia Conference 2016.
