JLL Helps Vanke Logistics Complete First Major Cold Chain Asset Acquisition

The transaction covers seven cold storage facilities in Shanghai, Guangzhou, Nanjing, Chengdu, Xiamen, Langfang and Ningbo. With a total leasable area covering over 290,000 square meters, the facilities have links with the Swire Group's cold chain operations in China.

In 2018, JLL worked as sole agent in assisting Vanke Logistics to complete its first major cold chain asset acquisition, which has become one of the largest cold chain asset package transactions in China's history. The transaction covers seven cold storage facilities in Shanghai, Guangzhou, Nanjing, Chengdu, Xiamen, Langfang and Ningbo. With a total leasable area covering over 290,000 square meters, the facilities have links with the Swire Group's cold chain operations in China

For this cooperation, the JLL Industrial and Logistics team provided professional market analysis, due diligence, valuation services, and negotiation assistance to Vanke in the early stages of the project. With its leading professional logistics team in China, strong client resources, and customer-centric service concept, JLL successfully facilitated this transaction between Vanke and Swire. As part of the process, a professional valuation service was jointly provided by JLL's Industrial  and Logistics and Valuation Advisory team.

The seven assets which were involved in the transaction are all high standard cold storage facilities in favorable locations. This will help Vanke quickly increase its share in the cold chain market and further accelerate the development of cold chain logistics in China. This is another important acquisition for Vanke in the logistics real estate sector following its acquisition of Singapore logistics giant ProLogis.
