JLL hires two senior professionals to bolster project and development service capabilities in China

Shanghai, 24 September 2021 -- JLL (NYSE: JLL) today announced two major appointments. Cindy Li joined as Managing Director of Project and Development Services for JLL China. She will oversee design, build and project management activities across China, guiding the team to provide more comprehensive solutions. Sophia Chan also joined JLL China’s Project and Development Services team as Head of Asset Development. She will focus on advising and managing asset enhancement projects for developer and investor clients. Both Cindy and Sophia are based in Shanghai and the appointments are effective immediately.

In the post-pandemic era, all industries are re-examining how their spaces function to address the diversified needs of different users. Various questions are emerging – how can offices be safer and greener to ensure employees’ health and wellbeing; How can school campuses be more flexible to inspire innovation; How can retail spaces be borderless to attract more consumers?

In response to these changing needs, developers and investors are focusing more on designing and developing properties that satisfy individual users’ unique space needs. Meanwhile, they are upgrading existing properties to enhance the asset value and achieve sustainability goals. Cindy has over 20 years of project management experience in China and the UK. Prior to JLL, she was a Partner to Arcadis UK in its London office and was instrumental in overseas investment projects for China corporations. Before that, she was Head of Project Management, East China, and Head of Shanghai Office for Arcadis. At JLL, Cindy will lead the team to serve our clients with tech-enabled professional and innovative solutions and achieve further business growth in China. Cindy holds China’s Constructor certification and is a member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors.

Sophia also has over 20 years of industry experience, including architecture, interior design, as well as development and project management. She has spent the last six years working for national developers in North America, including Ian Schrager, managing land deals, upgrading asset portfolios, and overseeing new construction projects for various Chinese investors. At JLL, Sophia will focus on further refining our proposition of asset development services for the China market. She will engage with local and international investor clients and lead internal teams to create opportunity-specific solutions and deliver value-added outcomes.
