Vanke wished to transfer its share listing from Shenzhen to Hong Kong for strategic purposes. In line with Hong Kong Exchange's listing rules, such a move required the services of JLL's Appraisal and Advisory department to perform valuations on the company's properties. Vanke's extensive property portfolio covered 195 developments across 51 cities in China with a total value of over US$43 billion.
Philips' global TV manufacturing operations were placed under a joint venture named TP Vision, initially majority-owned and now fully-owned by TPV Technology – a Hong Kong listed company. In order to consolidate the parent and the subsidiary companies' books, a report was required to fair value trademarks, R&D projects, financial instruments, plant and machinery and the inventory of the joint venture company. These elements were in different jurisdictions yet the Appraisal and Advisory department provided these valuation services with a total value of over US$1.3billion.
Alibaba appointed us as their property valuer for financial reporting purposes concerning their selection of properties within China. They needed a well-coordinated valuer with presence, scale and a hybrid accounting / real estate expertise to consider their property portfolio.
