JLL hires senior expert to meet increased demand for workplace strategy

Claire Stephens joins JLL in Shanghai to lead its specialized consultancy services unit

​Claire Stephens has joined JLL (NYSE: JLL) as Head of China for Workplace Strategy team, leading its specialized consultancy services unit to meet increased demand from clients.

Based in Shanghai, Ms. Stephens joins JLL following a successful career spanning 15 years in corporate real estate consulting and workplace strategies, with a broad based background across all areas of the built environment, including sustainability, facilities management and urban infrastructure. Apart from advising to clients in China and regionally on strategic workplace initiatives, in her role at JLL, she will also be responsible for other corporate consulting areas including M&A integration, due diligence, portfolio planning, organizational change/strategy and location advisory.

The China market for strategic workplace consulting is growing rapidly, as the war for talent and the need for flexibility are shaping occupiers decision-making. In first tier markets, tenants are faced with options to consolidate, move to a decentralized location or reduce their space requirements to save rent while maintaining staff satisfaction and collaboration.

Prior to JLL, Ms. Stephens worked for JCI seconded into Cisco Systems as the Asia Pacific Change Manager, she was responsible for all client engagement activities for projects across the region. She also led consultancy service projects for multinational insurance firms, reinsurers, pharmaceutical and industrial companies in China.

Ms. Stephens has lived and worked in Asia for the past 16 years and speaks Mandarin Chinese.
