JLL celebrates 20 years in China


Shanghai, September 9, 2014 – JLL, the global professional services firm specializing in real estate, today celebrates its 20th Anniversary in China since it opened its first Mainland China office in Shanghai in September 1994. In just 20 years, JLL has grown its staff to nearly 8,000 employees across 12 corporate offices in mainland China, and its business coverage spans more than 80 cities across the country. JLL has pioneered and led growth in the China real estate market for 20 years, through its market leading research, integrated global platform, and industry innovation. China is now JLL's fastest growing market globally.

JLL's success has been based on its unique ability to guide change within China's fast paced environment. Putting strategic emphasis on integrating global resources with extensive local expertise and market insight has allowed the company to provide integrated solutions across the entire real estate life cycle and all industry sectors. JLL's global reach has been especially valuable to Chinese corporates, who value JLL's experience and expertise as they expand their global footprint with outbound investments in real estate.

Research is a strategic priority for JLL in China, and it boasts the most comprehensive program in the industry with a team of over 50 dedicated researchers. In terms of properties, JLL now manages over 50 million square meters of real estate across China for occupiers and investors, with its portfolio including landmarks such as the Bird's Nest, CCTV Tower, Shanghai Port International Cruise Terminal and Guangzhou IFC.

During the celebration event marking JLL's 20th Anniversary in China, which was attended by more than 300 people recently, Alastair Hughes, CEO of Asia Pacific and KK Fung, Managing Director of Greater China for JLL commented on company's achievements.
