Jones Lang LaSalle Officially Launches Scholarship Program for Chongzhou Jinjiang Primary School in Chengdu

Jones Lang LaSalle (NYSE:JLL), the world’s leading real estate services firm, today announced the official launch of its scholarship program for the Chongzhou Jinjiang Primary School in Chengdu, China. Witnessed by government officials from Chongzhou Educational Bureau, Jinjiang County, and the students and teachers of Chongzhou Jinjiang Primary School, Jones Lang LaSalle CEO Colin Dyer and Yang Zengshuai, the school principal, jointly unveiled the plaque of scholarship, marking the start of this ten-year funding scheme.

Over the next ten years, Jones Lang LaSalle will contribute a total of RMB 500,000 to the scholarship fund. The Firm will be handing over RMB 50,000 to the school each year to give recognition to outstanding students as well as those who made the greatest improvements in their studies throughout the entire semester.

After the tragic 2008 Wenchuan Earthquake in Sichuan, Jones Lang LaSalle employees around the world signified their intentions to aid in the recovery efforts. Through the contributions from many of the Firm's employees across the globe, Jones Lang LaSalle was able to raise approximately RMB 1 million in donations. In early 2009, with the support and help of the Chengdu and Chongzhou governments, the company identified the Chongzhou Jinjiang Primary School as its beneficiary, and committed to build sports facilities and a new library for the school.

“This was such a rewarding project for us that we did not want our partnership to end when it was completed. And today, I am very happy to announce that our relationship with Chongzhou Jinjiang Primary School will continue for at least another ten years,” Dyer said during the ceremony.
“One of our priorities at Jones Lang LaSalle is to be good citizens and good neighbors in the countries and communities where we work and live. This new scholarship program supports that value. We are proud to be able to continue to be a partner of the school and the students. I hope this scholarship will convince you students to spend a little more time in the library to be knowledgeable and wise; and as you are using the sports fields, to be strong and healthy,” said Dyer.

“Sichuan is an important market of business development for Jones Lang LaSalle. With the support of the Chengdu government and the community, our Chengdu office has made tremendous progress in the past five years. Therefore, we sincerely wish to contribute to the community and devote our efforts for the public welfare services,” noted Eddie Ng, Managing Director of Jones Lang LaSalle Chengdu.
