Jones Lang LaSalle Opens New Office in Shenyang

Expansion driven by growing client base, and highlights Firm’s commitment to China’s real estate market

Jones Lang LaSalle, the global leader in real estate services, has officially opened its Shenyang office in China today, and appointed Michael Wang as Managing Director for the new office.

As the capital of Liaoning Province and the largest city and transportation hub in Northeast China, Shenyang is playing a key role in the region’s revitalization plan. Known throughout China as the “home of machinery”, the city’s heavy industrial base and its competitive manufacturing capabilities have made it a favoured destination for firms in the industrial sector. However, with the fifth biggest city economy in North China and with a robust infrastructure upgrade, Shenyang is also becoming an attractive destination for companies and investors across all business sectors to establish new ventures.

In recent years, the city has become more business friendly, offering incentives to invest in and construct new factories and real estate projects. In addition, the local authorities have begun a campaign to build a greener and more environmentally-sustainable city. These factors have helped usher Shenyang into a new era - a modern and more technically-advanced global city.

“Shenyang’s growing metropolitan population of over 25 million, ample business opportunities, competitive property values, and recent investments in infrastructure have well positioned the city to attract more companies, investors, and new residents,” noted KK Fung, Managing Director of Jones Lang LaSalle, Greater China. “Marking the 12th corporate office in Greater China, the Firm’s strategic expansion into Shenyang, coupled with the opening of our Chongqing office earlier this year, is a testament to Jones Lang LaSalle’s commitment to China’s dynamic real estate industry.”

“With the rapid development of China's property market and the increasing demand for our international network capabilities, I am honored to take up this challenging role in such a vibrant city,” adds Wang, Managing Director of Shenyang. “Our Shenyang team will provide a full scope of professional real estate services to users, investors, and developers of real estate across all sectors. We will leverage our existing Pan-China resources and expertise, including the Firm's well-established service processes, technical platforms, and customer bases to deliver consistent high-quality solutions to our clients.”

Since entering mainland China 17 years ago in 1994, Jones Lang LaSalle has expanded its business coverage to over 40 cities across the country. “The opening of our Shenyang office will further strengthen the Firm’s business and service capabilities in the North China region,” Fung said. "Over his past 16 years in our Beijing Office, Michael has a solid track record of achieving bottom-line results and, together with his extensive local market know-how, we are confident that under his leadership, we are well-positioned to meet the rising real estate requirements from clients in Northeast China.”
