​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​The high tech city of Shenzhen is unrecognizable from the time that China’s first Special Economic Zone was established here in 1980. The population has expanded from a few thousand people, to more than 18 million in the metropolitan area, and the city is seen as a business and technology leader with Tencent and a number of other of China’s high-tech enterprises calling Shenzhen home. Additionally, the city has become a hub for the development of the country’s rapidly expanding Internet finance industry.

In 2016, Shenzhen placed 19th on the Global Financial Centres Index putting it ahead of Los Angeles, Melbourne and Dublin. The city’s GDP reached RMB 1.75 trillion in 2015 with growth continually coming in above the national average. Shenzhen’s impressive growth story can be seen in the modern skyline, which boasts some of the world’s tallest buildings including the Kingkey 100 and the Ping An International Finance Centre.

JLL Shenzhen opened in 2007 and was JLL seventh corporate office in mainland China. Since then, the team at JLL Shenzhen has continued to grow and we now have more than 70 professionals with a further 500 on site staff working in property management and integrated facility management. In 2015, JLL managed more than 9.7 million square meters of property in the South China region.
