Beijing is the capital of the People's Republic of China with 16 million population. It is situated in the northeastern part of China. Beijing has a whole area of 16,808 sq km, stretching 160 kilometers from east to west and over 180 kilometers north to south. Beijing is brimming with history and culture. Modern and ancient intermingle in this fascinating city. Now Beijing is a fast-growing, dynamic metropolis.

With the Games of the XXIX Olympiad coming to a close in September 2008, Beijing’s transformation into a new Chinese capital is shifting into high gear. In line with new city planning strategies, Beijing is opening 14 new subway lines between 2008 and 2015, driving change for the city’s development landscape and creating substantial new opportunities for property developers, investors, and occupiers. Many of these opportunities have yet to emerge and it is these longer-term changes that will be key forces shaping Beijing’s transformation into a more convenient world-city.
