Beijing

  • On 26 July, French classic luxury brand Louis Vuitton opened a brand new lady boutique in Beijing Shin Kong Place with an area of 360 sqm. Luggage, handbags, fine jewelry, accessories, shoes, ready-to-wear for woman and leather goods are displayed in this unique shop. The original idea of this shop is to serve female guests and provide specific service to their honored guests
  • Recently, T.G.I. Friday’s has opened a new concept dinner in Gong San (Previous Shimao Department Store) at the Worker’s Stadium district. The open kitchen and a 360-degree full angle view of the bar have brought a new passion in dining experience. T.G.I. Friday’s owns more than 1,000 restaurants all over the world and is still in a high speed of expansion
  • After Sakura Japanese Restaurant opened in Hotel New Otani Chang Fu Gong, the hotel launched a Matsukaze Teppanyaki Restaurant. The restaurant is located on 2/F, Chang Fu Gong. Nationally recognized Japanese chefs serve up the Teppanyaki dishes to provide the best Japanese flavor and dining experience to the customers


Chongqing

  • On 31 July, the Liangjiang New Area Management Committee announced that 7-Eleven will open its first batch of shops in Jiangbei and Yubei districts by the end of this year. Products by its own brand will be sold by then
  • On 11 June, the Lenovo 3C experience store in Wanda Plaza hold its grand opening. As learned, this is the third 3C experience store of Lenovo in Chongqing, which implies the trend that Lenovo 3C experience store switch its expansion to shopping malls and supermarkets, instead of traditional IT marketplace


Shenzhen

  • Gap, the largest US apparel retailer, will open its first two stores in South China in All City and Coco Park, respectively. The Coco Park store will be a duplex with about 2,000 sqm and will include men’s, women’s, and kids’ wear.
  • The first Apple store in South China, the brand’s seventh in Mainland China, opened in November 2012. It is located on B1 of Holiday Plaza Shenzhen, with a net area of 1,400 sqm.


Taiwan

  • On July, Toys “R” Us opened its flagship store at Tiger City in Taichung. The area is about 450 ping (1,485 sqm)
  • On May, Fendi opened its biggest flagship store at Taipei 101 in Taiwan. The floor area is 90 ping (297 sqm)

Chengdu

  • On 12 July, the king of the HK style desserts, Hui Lau Shan, opens its first cafe in Raffles City in Chengdu. Moreover, the construction of its second café has already been completed in the Chengdu Financial Center. It’s known that more cafés of Hui Lau Shan will be opened soon in other business circles in Chengdu to satisfy the customers’ needs
  • In August, Burger King, the second largest fast food chain, opened its first restaurant in south-western China in Chunxi Road, Chengdu. The second restaurant is also in decoration recently. According to the person in charge, five restaurants will be opened in Chengdu within this year. In the following five years, the number of Burger King restaurants in Sichuan Province will amount to 150–300


Guangzhou

  • Yonghui Supermarket entered Guangdong market by opening a store in Shenzhen on 19 June, after which it planned to open two more in Guangzhou Panyu and Foshan on August and September, respectively. Yonghui Group plans to develop 100 shops in Guangdong market in the coming eight years
  • MUJI’s first store in Guangzhou opened in POPARK on 28 July, with about 850 sqm. It plans to open 30 more shops in China this year. Currently, it has five in Shenzhen, one in Guangzhou and another one in Foshan, a total of seven stores in the Guangdong Province


Shanghai

  • Bershka, which is under Inditex Group, recently opened an 800 sqm store in Nanjing Road East, Pedestrian Street. This is Bershka's 55th branch in China, however its first flagship store
  • The Milan fashion brand 10 Corso Como's will open its first store in Shanghai in mid September 2013. The store is located in a free standing glass building at Nanjing Road West, covering 2,500 sqm, This will be 10 Corso Como's first concept store in China
  • British luxury brand Burberry's new store opened in May at K11 Art Mall in Shanghai, covering two floors


Hong Kong

  • For HKD 2.1 million per month, Chow Tai Fook leased a 513 sqm area that was previously occupied by King Fook Jewellery. The area is located at 1-1L Yee Wo Street
