Asia Pacific quarterly leasing volumes decline; Melbourne outperforms
Asia Pacific quarterly gross leasing volumes declined 22% y-o-y in 3Q16, the second consecutive quarter of double digit declines. Tight vacancy in key markets and a scarcity of high quality space contributed to the decline. India was the biggest drag on growth as fewer big ticket leases and slower leasing activity caused India quarterly volumes to decline 62% y-o-y in 3Q16. Meanwhile Southeast Asia volumes nearly doubled from a year ago and Mainland China gross leasing activity was up 12%.
