Further strengthening East China delivery platform
Nanjing, 12 June 2014 - Jones Lang LaSalle (NYSE: JLL), the global professional services firm specializing in real estate, today announces the opening of its Nanjing office, with Kevin Chan appointed as Managing Director. The new office marks the Firm's 12th in mainland China and 15th in Greater China.
"Extending across two provinces of Jiangsu and Anhui, 'Nanjing Metropolis Circle', is an important gateway into Central and Western China, as well as an international, advanced manufacturing center and modern service industry base. With its abundant business opportunities, heavy infrastructural construction investment and ever-improving urban support systems, Nanjing is attracting more and more well-known enterprises from home and abroad," said KK Fung, Managing Director of JLL, Greater China. "As the 15th office of JLL in Greater China, the Nanjing office - together with the Xi'an office, which was set up at the end of last year - has convincingly demonstrated the firm's continuous commitment to the China market."
As one of China's 'four great ancient capitals', and the second largest city in Eastern China, Nanjing is taking on a new look in line with the rapid economic development of the Yangtze River Delta region. Today, the city has become the core of the 'Nanjing Metropolis Circle' and the sub-central city of the Yangtze River Delta region, playing a vitally important role in the development of this economic zone. On top of its long history, powerful educational resources and scientific research strength, Nanjing has also shown robust potential for development in the real estate field. As highlighted in our China50 report, Nanjing is one of the Tier 1.5 cities in terms of commercial real estate development, with good momentum in both the office and retail markets. Indeed, the city has attracted attention from a growing number of investors and corporate clients.
Kevin Chan, the newly appointed Managing Director of JLL's Nanjing office, said: "I am very honored and excited to take up this new role. As the ancient capital of six dynasties, Nanjing has a long history of transition and development. In recent years, the city has seen massive infrastructural upgrade and rapid development in the real estate market, which has an ever-growing demand for professional real estate services. As the market leader, JLL has long been a front-runner in cutting-edge ideas and innovative transformations. We hope to give an impetus to the development of Nanjing's real estate market with our professional strength, and grow along with the city."
JLL began to track and study the Nanjing market as early as 2007. So far, the company has provided a full range of real estate services to many landmark projects.
"Since its entry into mainland China 20 years ago, in 1994, JLL has been consistently committed to expanding its businesses and regional coverage," said KK Fung. "So far, the company has left its footprint in more than 80 Chinese cities. The establishment of the Nanjing office will further strengthen the company's service capabilities in Eastern China. I believe that with Kevin's rich experience in business development and customer service, coupled with his full understanding of the market, he will help us - as always - to provide our customers with the best and most professional real estate services in Jiangsu and Anhui," concluded Fung.
