Jones Lang LaSalle Opens Chongqing Office

Expansion plans driven by growing client base in China

Jones Lang LaSalle, the global leader in real estate services, has officially opened its Chongqing office in China today and appointed Danny So as the managing director of the new office.

Located on the upper reaches of the Yangtze River, Chongqing is one of four municipal cities in China with a total population of over 30 million. It serves as a key city in the implementation of China’s “Go West” policy, which reflects the significance of Chongqing in the development of Western China. “Jones Lang LaSalle’s strategic expansion in the city is primarily aimed at meeting its clients’ growing need for quality and professional real estate services. The market shows amazing potential in the coming decade,” noted KK Fung, managing director for Jones Lang LaSalle, Greater China.

“Seventeen years after establishing its presence in mainland China, Jones Lang LaSalle continues to expand strategically and rapidly to keep pace with the ever-burgeoning real estate markets in the country,” said Fung. “This is our 11th corporate office in Greater China.  We will open our 12th office in Shenyang later this year.  With the rapid development of China's property market, the demand for Jones Lang LaSalle’s international capabilities and network is increasing so we are expanding our geographical scope and adding new services to fulfill the needs of our clients.”
Danny So, the newly appointed managing director for the Chongqing office, commented, “I am both honored and excited to be taking up this challenging role.  The infrastructure of Chongqing has been developing very rapidly in recent years, and the ongoing process of urbanization resulted in a significant growth in real estate market activity as well as an increasing demand for high-quality real estate services. ”

“Our Chongqing team can provide the full scope of professional services to users, investors and developers of real estate in all sectors.  We will fully capitalize on our resources and offices in Chengdu and pan-China, including service processes, technical platforms, and customer bases to deliver consistent and extensive real estate services to our clients,” So continued.

Since entering mainland China in 1994, Jones Lang LaSalle has expanded its business coverage to over 40 cities across the country. “The opening of our Chongqing office will further strengthen the Firm’s service delivery in the west region,” Fung said. "We are confident in Danny’s strong understanding of the local market as well as our business process, he is an exceptional leader capable of growing our business and serving the needs of our clients in west China.”
